Share Your Collection

By Cliff Aliperti, May 17th, 2009,in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Recently I began appending a request to the thank you notices sent to my paying customers.  It goes like this:

I’ve been putting together a few posts recently about how collectors are storing and/or displaying their collections.  If you’d care to share, please feel free to reply with any info.

And I’ve gotten some nice posts out of it.  So far with the help of my customers we’ve covered everything from displaying magazines to showing off a Laurel & Hardy collection, from direct recommendations on which supplies to use to best preserve and display your photos to displays at conventions and even a museum!

As the VintageMeld has begun to develop its focus I’ve found that I’ve personally enjoyed putting these pieces together best, probably because they’re all about you.  This series of posts takes me out of my familiar boundaries.  And so I want more.

Just fill out the form below and there’s a chance your own collection will be on display inside the VintageMeld.  Write it up nice and I might just cut & paste it, but if writing’s not your forte don’t worry, I can piece it together for you as well.

The pieces that have the best chance to be shown off on this site will follow two recommendations:

  1. I’m mostly interested in hearing how your display your collection.  It can be as simple as a picture frame or a photo card album, but this column was inspired by others asking me what kinds of things my buyers did with their collections … my answer was a stutter and a shpiel.
  2. Photos.  I’ve included a box for you to check off if you can send photos.  If you check this I will get back to you about what files to send.  Photos may be preferably of your items on display but if that’s too much just some images of the items you collect would be great just to spice up any potential post.

Finally this is not limited to movie card collectors or magazine collectors.  So far the focus has drifted that way because that is what I sell and those are who my customers are.  I want to hear from any and all vintage collectors.  Comics, stamps, coins, baseball cards, record albums, ephemera, photographs, postcards, etc., etc., etc.

Just fill out the form below to get started.  Thanks!
