This page is an introduction to a very exciting addition to the site.  I was lucky enough to spot a post by Jason Liller on the alt.movies.silent group, a Google Group comprised of extremely knowledgeable film buffs, historians, general experts, etc. which I subscribe to and read every morning, concerning silent film reviews in early issues of The New Yorker.

In his post Jason graciously offered to e-mail the index he compiled from the vintage issues to anyone who wished to have it, and going a step further offered it for publication on a site if anyone was interested.  I was definitely interested.  Jason Liller provided this list to me for publication on things-and-other-stuff.com absolutely free of charge, and I cannot thank him enough for that.

Following are Jason's own notes to The Complete New Yorker Film Review Index:

"The Complete New Yorker" film review index covers all film reviews from issue #1 (21 Feb 1925) through the last issue of 1929 (28 Dec). I have made no attempt to distinguish between silents and talkies. Also, because I stopped indexing at the end of 1929, the list does not include anomalous silents, such as MODERN TIMES, which was released in 1936.

Please notify me of all errors, omissions and lapses of judgment. Please feel free to direct all questions, suggestions for improvement, etc., to me through the things-and-other-stuff.com web site.

Thank you, and enjoy!
