1949 Turf Cigarettes Cards

From Britain.  Measure 1-3/8" X 2-5/8"

One of my favorites, perhaps because it reminds me of the 1938 Goudey Heads-Up baseball card set (which was always out of my price range).  Heck, maybe someone with Carreras liked those too, whatever the case they issued this set in 1949 on Turf Cigarettes packets.  The cards are found two to a pack and you can occasionally find the uncut packets up for sale on eBay.  Judging by the borders I see on some of these cuts I'm assuming they were also issued as single cards on packets.  They have plain blank backs, and since they were most often collected clipped from tobacco packets they are condition sensitive. 

Stars are shown in movie scenes, both current and already classic.
