1936 Ardath "Who Is This?" Tobacco Cards

This is one of my favorite tobacco card sets.  You may want to give this page a moment or so to load as it is packed with images of all 50 cards in this set.  "Who Is This?" asks you to identify the movie star based just about entirely on their eyes, nose and mouth--the reverse side of the card tells you who it is and includes a brief biography.  The back also contains the text "This Surface is Adhesive" as there was also an album available for the cards to be housed in--obviously the cards with clean backs are more desirable than those which have been removed from the album.  There's a glossy finish in the front of the cards and a little clue in the form of a question to entice a guess of "Who Is This?" inside the bottom border of each card.  I've included the questions for each card with its image below and I also took the guesswork out of it for you by identifying each.  A sample of the reverse side of these 1936 Ardath tobacco cards is shown at the immediate right.
