Tobacco Cards - From Cuba - Measure appx. 1-7/8" X 2-9/16"

Sample of reverse side of Henry Clay and Bock Tobacco CardA huge set of 660 cards issued with Henry Clay and Bock & Co., Ltd. cigars out of Havana, Cuba.  The cards are numbered individually and by series -- the checklist below arranges the cards by series.  Beneath the numbering on the reverse side a star is named, as is a title of the film represented by the series (in Spanish).  After looking over more than a couple of hundred of cards from this set I'd say that most series are comprised of a single star/film, though there are definitely some exceptions which are noted below when I'm aware of them.  I wasn't able to collect any complete series, so I can't say so for sure, but I often came across five or six different cards from the same series that were all the same star/film.  Sometimes the star headlining the series isn't pictured on the front of the card, but another scene from named film is shown with different actors.

Cards from the last series (numbered 601-660) are individual cards of stars and not grouped by film (though in some cases a film is named).

This page will eventually picture all of the cards I've come across beneath the series in the checklist below.  I've run each of the titles through an online translator, but since translations tend to be far from literal I wasn't able to identify each film by it's proper English title.  All titles which I was able to identify were issued between 1922 and 1924, which is likely when these cards were produced, obviously no earlier, likely towards the back end of the date range. 

Where I have named the film I've linked to the IMDb page which includes complete cast information for the title (this will help when a card doesn't show the named star).  When a star's name is linked it is to the Movie Profile page on this site, so click on through if you want to read a little about the life of the star.  I've also included the studio named on the back of the card for each film, however judging by the names of some of these I'd guess that these are actually the names of the Cuban distributors.
