Collecting Advertising Blotters is a completely separate hobby than movie collectibles and we in no way profess to be experts in the field. In fact we shopped the net for information on Ink Blotters and after going through about five pages of Google listings we settled on the first site listed, an article on penbid.com, as the best introduction to ink blotters.
Like other separate hobbies, notably those such as collecting trading cards or collecting photographs, ink blotters also depict some of our favorite stars from Hollywood days gone by. things-and-other-stuff.com purchased three sets, 1917, 1923, 1924, of sample blotters which featured the famed actresses of the era. They are a neat collectible, and while we are looking for more there still are some from this purchase available (including a few of those pictured below).
Just as they appear below, those blotters from 1917 grouping are larger in size than those in the 1923 and 1924 groupings. Please scroll slow and give the photos a chance to load, there are 15 in all (including each envelope).
