1920's-1930's Movie Star 5"x7" Fan Photos
with Mailers
Following is a sample fan photos when accompanied by their original mailing envelopes. Of course, not all of the stars sent out a package as nice as Ruth Roland, who in this instance included a photo and a typewritten letter on stationery featuring her image. The envelope also featured her image. This package dates 1925 according to the postmark on the envelope:

Apparently what most of the stars sent was a pretty standard. A 5x7 included in a pre-printed envelope which included the star's name and studio's return address, and often a listing of the stars latest features. The one's below are a little later than the Roland, dating 1928-1932. Click any of these photos for an enlargement of the thumbnail image.
