1955 Skye Publications Premium Photos

These colorful premiums each measure 8-3/8" x 10-7/8" and are printed on magazine paper stock with blank (white) backs. These were acquired in their original envelope which had been postmarked in 1955 and mailed from Jalert Sales Co., 270 Park Avenue, New York 17, NY. In the posted area is the notation "Ask for Skye Publications at your newsstand," thus the label 1955 Skye Publications Premium Photo.

Since the photos are unmarked we didn't have much of a clue about them other than the markings on this envelope.  But then as we had the first round of Skye Premiums up for sale on eBay, and interested collector, Eric Hemphill contacted us and sent us the scan on the right:

So while we can't say for sure that these premiums had all been previously used as cover photos, we would gather that they were used in the magazine as pin-ups at least.  And thanks to Mr. Hemphill, we now know that Skye Publications is associated with Screen Life Magazine.
