1934 Dixie Premiums
Early Dixie Premiums, 9" X 11", black and white, two sheets --
there are two pages for each star; the main photo and a page of biographical
information with smaller photos. The reverse side of each page is blank.
All of the latest films mentioned in the descriptions date to 1934, thus these
were issued no earlier than 1934, probably no later than 1935. These were issued by Dixie -- you'd get a
Dixie Cup Lid featuring a star on your Dixie Ice Cream Cup, you then redeemed a
number of these Lids to Dixie to receive one of these Premium Photos.
Later photos, as shown on this other Dixie
Premium Photo ID Guide, were brightly colored and printed on one sheet,
both front and back.
While there is no direct reference to Dixie on these Premiums
or the cover to the Scrapbook, this grouping is consistent with the later
Dixie Premiums, especially the "My Scrap Book of Movie Stars" cover, which is
the title on multiple other groupings of Dixie Premiums which have passed
through my hands.
