All 17 of the 1934 Dixie Premiums sold successfully tonight, so I went ahead and added the Prices Realized to the Photo ID Guide I created last week.
For the most part they sold for about what I had expected them too, with the exceptions of Ginger Rogers going higher than expected ($53.99) and Clark Gable ($19.25) and Claudette Colbert ($12.16) going a lower than expected. It was also interesting to see lesser regarded stars such as Margaret Sullavan and Ann Dvorak go for more than major stars such as Joan Crawford, Gable, and Colbert. I thought Buster Crabbe ($23.05) could have sold for considerably more, but then again he’s not pictured as Flash Gordon here, just a smiling leading man.
Anyway, the sale’s over, they’re all gone, and on the whole I did quite well with these. If you’d like to see what each Dixie Premium sold for here’s a link back to the 1934 Dixie Premium Photo ID Guide.
