WARM-UPS:
Welcome to another edition of ASTOS, the things-and-other-stuff newsletter.

We've been slowly getting back into the eBay auction scene though mainly with items that have been in stock for awhile.  The good news is that I spent a few hours on the scanner this morning with some of the new stock and expect to have the first batch of it listed sometime this coming week.  Please see the things-and-other-stuff home page for a sneak preview of our first offerings.

The Catalog  continues to be pared down, but as we now boast on the home page there are over 1,600 movie collectible items listed!  Sports items and non-movie magazines have been being moved out the door over the past few months as we begin to concentrate on movie collectibles only.  Also beginning to refer to the site as things-and-other-stuff featuring moviepremiums.com. That link will take you directly to the main entertainment page rather than the normal home page.

Since we're still getting settled into our new location here this will be a very short issue (and pretty late too, sorry) but as always, Tammy Stone has a contribution to The Silent Collection.  Enjoy her profile of Marion Davies.

To the time tunnel we go!

The Silent Collection by Tammy Stone
Marion Davies

Lucky Marion. Having grown up in New York, she was already based where a lot of the action was in that day. So it seems almost inevitable – who could argue with the forces of fate and destiny – that she would realize her dreams of becoming a famous entertainer. Of course, it wasn’t the movies all these young silent stars dreamed about since youth – most of them were born before the movies were even invented. What they wanted was to perform, to shine, to strut their stuff in front of audiences of any kind. With the movies, they were able to make their dreams come true in ways they could never have imagined.

This is just a teaser--check out Tammy's entire column with pictures!
